Technical energy audits are detailed evaluations of the actual performance of a facility’s energy using systematic approach and equipment, benchmark against the designed performance level or the industry.

In this course, you will learn the principles and system approach methodology to analyse thermal energy system in the industries.

Steam System
The course will cover the fundamentals of typical industrial steam system, including steam generation, steam distribution, steam end-uses, condensate recovery and cogeneration system. For example, in steam generation, you will learn about improving the performance of boiler by fuel switching, optimisation of air to fuel ratio, burner selection, boiler pressure adjustment, heat recovery from flue gas losses and blow losses. For steam distribution and recovery, you will learn about condensate recovery, flash steam recovery, steam trap, steam leakages and insulation. For steam end-uses, you will learn about how to leverage on pinch analysis to reduce the demand of steam system.

Steam System Evaluation
This course also presents the key parameters and measurements, that are required to conduct the steam system evaluation. This course also introduces process integration to improve the energy efficiency of a thermal energy system.
