SUMMARY:MJIIT-Panasonic Collaborative Research Laboratory
DESCRIPTION:On November 23\, 2021\, the Malaysian Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) signed a cooperation agreement with Panasonic Appliances R & D Center Asia Pacific SDN. BHD. (PAPRADAP) to launch the “MJIIT- Panasonic Collaborative Research Laboratory”. A signing ceremony and a lab opening ceremony was held on 23 November 2021.\n\n\nIn collaboration with MJIIT’s MEMOBIO iKohza (Metabolic Engineering and Molecular Biology Reserach Laboratory)\, this joint laboratory aims to solve various problems peculiar to the Southeast Asian region\, research on public health\, especially harmful microorganisms and harmful substances peculiar to the tropical region. We plan to conduct joint research focusing on the removal of harmful microorganisms and harmful substances.\n\n\nAt the signing ceremony\, President Naoaki Ishimaru of PAPRADAP stated\, “Through the launched collaborative lab\, we would like to develop goods and technology contributing to Malaysia\, utilizing Malaysian specific hygiene environment\,”. In response\, the Associate Professor Nor’Azizi\, the director of the MJIIT Microbial Function and Metabolism Engineering Course\, expressed his expectations and enthusiasm for the joint research by stating “This is a very good chance for us\, especially for young researchers\, and we will try to maximize this given chance”.\n\n\nThis is the 6th establishment of a joint research laboratory between MJIIT and a Japanese company.\n\nMJIIT is promoting industry-academia collaboration through the establishment of joint research laboratories and contract research.

DESCRIPTION:Satu Perjanjian Kerjasama telah dimeterai oleh Pusat Kajian Tinggi Islam\, Sains\, dan Peradaban Raja Zarith Sofiah (RZS-CASIS)\, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) bersama Perbadanan Muzium Negeri Pahang (PMNP) di Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort\, Pahang pada 18 November 2021\, Khamis. Perjanjian kerjasama di antara RZS-CASIS dan PMNP melibatkan program pembangunan keilmuan seperti penyelidikan\, penganjuran wacana ilmu\, bengkel dan latihan pemantapan staf dan penerbitan selama 3 tahun.\n\n\nKerjasama ini telah bermula melalui pemberian geran kepada RZS-CASIS untuk melakukan penyelidikan Karya Ḥill al-Ẓill dan Jawāhir al-‘Ulūm oleh Nur al-Din al-Raniri (di bawah Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zainiy Uthman) dan Sumber Historiografi Pahang: Kajian Terhadap Koleksi Muzium Pahang (di bawah Prof. Dr. Tatiana Denisova).\n\n\nSelain itu\, Prof. Dr. Zainiy juga telah dilantik sebagai Sarjana Ulung Pusat Kajian Sejarah dan Tamadun Al-Sultan Abdullah (AL-ASAR) untuk memberi khidmat nasihat mengenai falsafah dan hala tuju Pusat Kajian yang baru ditubuhkan. Antara tugas utama yang beliau telah lakukan ialah memperolehi koleksi nadir dan manuskrip untuk rujukan dan penyelidikan di Kutubkhanah Diraja Kompleks Muzium Diraja Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah.\n\n\nPada Majlis Persidangan Diraja\, pihak RZS-CASIS berbesar hati kerana Profesor Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail\, Naib Canselor UTM sudi hadir untuk memeterai Perjanjian Kerjasama bagi pihak RZS-CASIS\, UTM dan PMNP.\n\n\nPersidangan Diraja juga dicemar duli oleh Ke Bawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum AlMutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj yang menyampaikan Titah Diraja bertajuk “Peranan Istana dan Kesinambungan Bangsa”.\n\n\nTurut membentangkan kertas kerja ialah Dato’ Ahmad Farid bin Abd. DESCRIPTION:PETRONAS has teamed up with 15 local universities under its Collaboration with Higher Education Strategic Initiatives (CHESS) programme to catalyse industry-academia knowledge sharing in technical areas aligned with PETRONAS’ sustainability goals.\n\n\nThe collaboration\, expected to contribute to Malaysia’s human capital development efforts\, is outlined in the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) exchanged today to intensify learning\, coaching\, and developing and organising research and publication in a wide range of technical areas related to the energy industry.\n\n\nThe MoUs were signed with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia\, Universiti Putra Malaysia\, Universiti Utara Malaysia\, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka\, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia\, Universiti Malaysia Perlis\, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu\, Universiti Malaya\, Universiti Malaysia Sabah\, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia\, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia\, Universiti Teknologi MARA\, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Universiti Sains Malaysia. The MoC was signed with Universiti Kuala Lumpur. Besides these higher learning institutions\, PETRONAS also has an ongoing collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.\n\n\n\nPETRONAS Senior Vice President of Project Delivery and Technology Bacho Pilong said\, “PETRONAS always strives to create a positive social impact as guided by our sustainability agenda. Talent development through education-related initiatives is among the ways we contribute to nation-building and bring betterment to those we cross paths with. It is hoped that these efforts will help build a sustainable talent pipeline for the industry amid a global energy transition.\n\n\n\n“Through the signing of the MoUs and the MoC with these reputable institutions\, we look forward to accelerating our momentum in creating positive social impact while supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4\, namely Quality Education.”\n\n\nBacho added that the industry-academia collaboration brings together the best of both worlds and has proven to be an invaluable impetus to PETRONAS’ sustainability pursuits.\n\n\nUnder the terms of the MoUs and the MOC\, experts from PETRONAS will share knowledge and industry’s best practices through lectures\, talks\, trainings and mentorships\, besides PETRONAS’ internship arrangements and visits to its facilities. Selected personnel will be appointed as adjunct lecturers and advisory panelists for the universities’ curriculum reviews and academic projects. Likewise\, the universities will share their academic expertise with PETRONAS.\n\n\n\nBoth parties are committed to exploring opportunities in joint related research and publications of technical papers across local and international platforms.\n\n\nBelieving in the strength of synergy\, PETRONAS has long established collaborations with local and foreign universities and continues to expand its network of academic partners to advance mutual progress.
