Muk Chen Ong is a Professor in Marine Technology and Marine Operations at University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway and a member of Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences (NTVA). He is currently Strategic Research Area Leader for Ocean, Leader of Ocean Technology Innovation Cluster Stavanger, UiS EU Project Positioning Coordinator for Ocean Technology and Head of Marine and Subsea Technology Group at UiS. He is also a key researcher in Norwegian Research Centre for Offshore Wind Technology (NOWITECH). He has published over 140 international journal and conference papers. He is an Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, an Editorial Board Member of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers – Maritime Engineering, an Editorial Board Member of Journal of the Korean Society of Fisheries and Ocean Technology, and an Editorial Board Member of Ocean Systems Engineering (International Journal). He is also scientific committee members in International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE), International Conference on Scour and Erosion (ICSE) and Conference on Computational Mechanics (MekIT). His research interests are: Dynamic analysis of offshore fish cages/net; Marine lifting operations and installations; Dynamic analysis of offshore wind turbines; Vortex-induced vibrations; CFD with turbulence modelling; Flows around marine pipelines, wind turbine foundations, ROVs and subsea structures; internal flow in subsea piping system and valves; Scour around offshore structures; Free surface flow and wave kinematics.
