Prof. Dr. Zuraidah Mohd Don has built up a professorial profile in the course of her career as an academic for more than 30 years. In recognition of her work and expertise in English Language, the Ministry of Education appointed her adviser on English Language matters, including Chair of the English Language Quality and Standards Council. She was also the founding Chair of the Council of Language Deans, and later when she stepped down as Dean, she was appointed adviser to the Council. She was Chair of the Committee for the Development of the Ecosystem Model for Public Universities, Co-Chair of and now Adviser and primary Consultant to the Project on CEFR-aligned Language Assessment at Tertiary Level, and Chair of the MUET Syllabus Revision Committee. She was a Commonwealth scholar and Honorary Research Fellow in Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University and visiting scholar at University College London, and is also Adjunct Professor at UPSI and UMK and the Malaysian representative for Oriental-Cocosda. She is the planner and lead author of 5 policy documents.
