Prof Dr. Yutaka Wakayama served at Asahi Glass Company as a research engineer from 1989 to 1994 and a research member at ERATO Project from 1994 to 1998. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Tsukuba in 1998. After working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics (Germany) from 1998 to 1999, he joined the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). Now, he is working as a deputy director of the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics of NIMS, Japan.
His current research interests are functional transistors and nanoelectronics using organic molecules and 2D materials.
