Webinar on Strengthening Urban Resilience in the World Heritage Sites: Learning from the Japanese and Malaysian Experience

The webinar is organized by Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Center (DPPC), Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), in collaboration with the DID Malaysia, Institute of Disaster Mitigation for Urban Cultural Heritage, Ritsumeikan University Kyoto, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be organizing an international webinar, in conjunction with George Town World Heritage Day 2021 and its 13 years as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This webinar is part of MMJD1243 Geohazard Information for Disaster Risk Assessment course under the Master of Disaster Risk Management (MDRM) program. The objective of the program is to rejuvenating disaster risk reduction and resilience strategies in vulnerable world heritage sites and their vicinities; building up scientific knowledge, innovation and education and strengthening the disaster preparedness for effective response at all levels; and strengthen understanding to effectively plan recovery and rehabilitation with “build back better” concepts;
